Rutland Water: Wood Sandpiper briefly on Lagoon 4 this morning; Little Gull, Lagoon 2; 7 Black Terns, Lagoon 3.
Eyebrook Res: 4 Little Gulls, Black Tern briefly & 7 Greenshanks.
Stanford Res: 6 Black Terns flew through this evening.
Tuesday 29th April
Cossington Meadows: Savi’s Warbler still singing at the Moor Pool and showing occasionally, also 3 Black Terns on Tern Pool till c20:15.
Eyebrook Res: Black Redstart near the old hide west of the island bunker this morning, but no further sign. 5 Little Gulls at the inflow; 5 Black Terns & 9 Greenshanks at the island.
Rutland Water: 2 Black Terns, 3 Little Gulls & 10 Ruff, Lagoon 3; 3 Wood Sandpipers, Lagoon 4 then flew off north-east.
Monday 28th April
Cossington Meadows: Savi’s Warbler still singing at the Moor Pool and showing occasionally.
Rutland Water: drake Garganey, Lagoon 3.
Eyebrook Res: Wood Sandpiper at the inflow, also Greenshank, 3 Common Sandpipers & 1 Ringed Plover.
Sunday 27th April
Cossington Meadows: Savi’s Warbler this evening, singing along the river side of Tern Pool. View only from the footpaths, and it should go without saying not to even think about using playback on what is a Rare Breeding Birds Panel and Schedule 1 species.
Rutland Water: drake Garganey and Bar-tailed Godwit, Lagoon 4.
Eyebrook Res: Sanderling at the island and 2 Greenshanks at the inflow, also a wholly unconfirmed report of a Spotted Redshank in flight at the inflow early afternoon, but not seen by anyone else before or after the reported sighting.
Saturday 26th April
Eyebrook Res: Wood Sandpiper still at the inflow, also Greenshank and Dunlin.
Quorn: Wood Sandpiper near Pilling’s Lock.
Rutland Water: 3 Whimbrel still, North Arm in field east of the fishermen’s car park.
Wanlip Meadows: Cuckoo.
Cossington Meadows: Wheatear at back of Lower Moor pool.
Friday 25th April
Eyebrook Res: Wood Sandpiper, Greenshank & 2 Avocets.

Cossington Meadows: ringtail Hen Harrier Upper Marsh/Hobley Lake.
Rutland Water: 4 Whimbrel, North Arm in field east of the fishermen’s car park.
Wednesday 23rd April
Eyebrook Res: Little Tern, up to 4 Little Gulls and 50+ Arctic Terns off Stoke Dry car park; Sanderling, Whimbrel, 7 Dunlin, Ringed Plover & Wheatear at the inflow; another Whimbrel and Wheatear along the bank between Alec Lane gate and the Fishing Lodge; Common Sandpiper north of the island.
Rutland Water: Grey Plover, Lagoon 4; Sandwich Tern, c20 Arctic Terns & Little Gull north, Lagoon 1; 18 Arctic Terns, Lagoon 3.
Stanford Res (permit holders only): 2 Black Terns & 44 Arctic Terns.
Shawell Sand Pit: 4 Arctic Terns, then flew NW.

Thornton Res: Arctic Tern early morning, then flew off.
Rutland Water: Arctic Tern, Lagoon 4 + 2 flew north over Lagoon 1.
Monday 21st April
Eyebrook Res: Whimbrel & 3 Bar-tailed Godwits at the inflow, also c40 Arctic Terns off Stoke Dry car park.
Rutland Water: c40 Arctic Terns through South Arm 3 this afternoon, also 8+ on Lagoon 1 and Bar-tailed Godwit through.
Watermead CP South: 1 Arctic Tern.
Sunday 20th April
Cossington Meadows: Crane heard calling around 12:40 but not seen, also 3 Cattle Egrets again, Plover Meadow.
Great Easton: White Stork of unknown origin in field at Church Farm early afternoon then flew off.
Eyebrook Res: 1 Whimbrel this morning.
Barrow upon Soar: ringtail Hen Harrier flew towards Walton on the Wolds this evening.
South Croxton: male Whinchat in hedge west of village on Syston Road.
Saturday 19th April
Rutland Water: 59 (!) Bar-tailed Godwits flew west over South Arm 3, plus another 6 on Lagoon 4.
Eyebrook Res: 2 Bar-tailed Godwits briefly early morning.
Cropston Res: 2 Arctic Terns briefly early morning.
Thornton Res: 10 Avocets this morning.
Cossington Meadows: 3 Cattle Egrets on the Moor.

Eyebrook Res: male Ring Ouzel on Leics side viewed from Stoke Dry car park this morning, but no further sign after the initial sighting.

Swithland Res: male Ring Ouzel in field off Kinchley Lane, half way down on the right hand side (approaching the reservoir).
Rutland Water: Knot, Goldeneye hide.

Wanlip Meadows: Little Gull & Yellow Wagtail.
Reed Warblers singing at several sites now.
Tuesday 8th April
Warren Hills: male Wheatear in field with metal gate.
Cossington Meadows: Reed Warbler and Whitethroat singing.
Rutland Water: Cuckoo, Lagoon 2.
Also a White Stork in Coalville today, known to have escaped from a zoo in the West Midlands – this is presumably the same bird that was reported over the A42 yesterday.
Monday 7th April
Single Little Gulls today at: Lagoon 1, Rutland Water, Eyebrook Res and Saddington Res.
Elmesthorpe: Redstart & Wheatear near the railway bridge.
Appleby Magna: presumed escaped White Stork circling over A42/A444 junction around 16:00.
Eyebrook Res: Wheatear, Sedge Warbler & 2 Yellow Wagtails.
Sunday 6th April
Rutland Water: Little Gull, Lagoon 1, also Reed Warbler on the reserve.
Eyebrook Res: Tree Pipit flew NE over the inflow at 11:20, also Yellow Wagtail & 2 Dunlin.
Cossington Meadows: Green Sandpiper, Lower Moor pool.
Friday 4th April
Big movement of Little Gulls today: Stanford Res, 34; Eyebrook Res, 16; Rutland Water: 3 in the North Arm at least (surely there were more than this?); Thornton Res, 2; Cossington Meadows, 2 on Lower Moor Pool; Cropston Res, 2. Most were adults.

Rutland Water: Sedge Warbler singing on the Lyndon Reserve.
