Cossington Meadows: unconfirmed, secondhand report of a Spotted Redshank, but no details of where exactly.

Friday 30th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still, North Arm, and also visited Manton Bay during the day; 9 Arctic Terns including 1 1st-summer, Lagoon 3 this morning; Sanderling, 2 Dunlin & 5 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Thursday 29th

No news received since Sunday.

Sunday 25th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still, North Arm, in the bay between the end of the road past Fishponds Cottage and the anglers' car park on the Hambleton road. Also 2 Turnstones, Lagoon 4 early morning only.

Saturday 24th

Rutland Water: 5 Sanderlings, Lagoon 4.

Priory Water: Greenshank briefly this morning, then flew north.

Friday 23rd

Rutland Water: 9 Sanderlings & 1 Turnstone, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: Marsh Harrier flew north-east at 08:10.

Thursday 22nd

Rutland Water: 3 Grey Plovers, 3 Turnstones, 4 Knot, 10 Sanderlings, 7 Bar-tailed Godwits, Greenshank & 17 tundrae Ringed Plovers on Lagoon 4 at various times during the day. No reports of Glossy Ibis today.

Wednesday 21st

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in the North Arm; Turnstone, Lagoon 4.

Tuesday 20th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in the North Arm, also 2 Sandwich Terns this morning & 1 Common Sandpiper; 9 Sanderlings, 4 Greenshanks & 7 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4; 4 Black Terns, Lagoon 3.

Swithland Res: 2 Common Sandpipers on the dam.

Newton Harcourt: Spotted Flycatcher in wood past the church.

Monday 19th

Rutland Water: Little Tern & 5 Black Terns, South Arm 3 (Lapwing hide; Black Tern, North Arm; 3 Sanderlings, Greenshank, 2 Dunlin & 6+ Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4. No sign of Glossy Ibis today.

Sutton Cheney: Osprey flew low at 18:00, heading towards Barwell/Burbage.

Sunday 18th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in the North Arm; Curlew Sandpiper & 3 Sanderling, Lagoon 4.

Pickwell: 1 Spotted Flycatcher in wood at bottom of Main Street.

Cossington Meadows: drake Red-crested Pochard on Upper Marsh.

Saturday 17th

Eyebrook Res: 2 Ruff still till 09:00 when they flew off. Dunlin, Common Sandpiper & Ringed Plover at the inflow.

North Kilworth: 1 Spotted Flycatcher.

Rutland Water: no news at all on Glossy Ibis today.

Friday 16th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis back in the North Arm this afternoon.

Eyebrook Res: 2 Ruff at the inflow.

Thursday 15th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still, Lagoon 3; Turnstone, Ringed Plover & Dunlin, Lagoon 4.

Wednesday 14th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis, Lagoon 3, also Black Tern.

Eyebrook Res: Curlew Sandpiper & 2 Dunlin at the inflow.

Tuesday 13th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in North Arm; 1 Sanderling, Lagoon 4.

Monday 12th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in North Arm; 3 Little Gulls, 30+ Dunlin & 15+ Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: 11 Dunlin.

Sunday 11th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in North Arm; Sanderling, Turnstone, Whimbrel, 3 Little Gulls, 22 Dunlin & 10 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: 19 Dunlin.

Saturday 10th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in North Arm; Little Tern, Lagoon 4 this morning, also Turnstone, Whimbrel, Sanderling & 3 Little Gulls.

Eyebrook Res: 10 Dunlin & 1 Common Sandpiper.

Swithland Res: 1 Spotted Flycatcher.

Friday 9th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in North Arm this evening, having visited Lagoons 3 & 2 during the day. 13 Sanderlings & 11 tundrae Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Thursday 8th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis still in North Arm this evening.

Eyebrook Res: 39 Dunlin & 1 Common Sandpiper at the inflow.

Wednesday 7th

Rutland Water: Glossy Ibis, North Arm at the end of Tim's road (off Hambleton Road) till 20:23 when it flew to roost at Burley Fishponds. Also Sanderling, 2 Whimbrels, 35 Dunlin, 9 Ringed Plovers & 2 1st-summer Little Gulls, Lagoon 4; Common Sandpiper, North Arm.

Wanlip Meadows: drake Garganey on the scrape this morning.

Eyebrook Res: 36 Dunlin & 1 Common Sandpiper.

Monday 5th

Rutland Water: 2+ Sanderling, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, Grey Plover, Black Tern, 1st-summer Little Gull, 10 Dunlin & 10+ Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4; 6 Black Terns, Lagoon 3.

Swithland Res: Grey Plover on the outflow.

Longmoor Lake: 1 Osprey.

Quorn: 3 Swifts this evening.

Sunday 4th

Rutland Water: Whimbrel, 2 Little Gulls & 1 Black Tern, Lagoon 4; 6 Swifts, Lagoon 3; Brambling behind Osprey hide.

Thorpe Langton: male Whinchat in rape field 1km north of the village.

Oakham: 2 Swifts over the town.

Swithland Res: 2 Common Sandpipers on the dam.

Cropston Res: 1 Common Sandpiper on the dam.

Saturday 3rd

Wanlip Meadows: Glossy Ibis again early morning; flew off north at 06:30, then relocated on Hobley Lake at Cossington Meadows from 07:20 - 07:45, but no further reports after that.

Rutland Water: 2 or 3 Arctic Terns flew from Lagoon 4 - Lagoon 3 early morning, also 6 Whimbrel, 2 Greenshanks & 1 Dunlin on Lagoon 4. Hobby, Lagoon 1.

Friday 2nd

No reports of Glossy Ibis today.

Rutland Water: 20 Arctic Terns, Lagoon 3 this morning, also Bar-tailed Godwit, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: 4 Whimbrels at the inflow from 13:10 - 13:35 when they flew off north, then another dropped in at 14.30. Also 1 Common Sandpiper.

Longmoor Lake: male Whinchat in the first fields from the new car park.

Thursday 1st

Wanlip Meadows: Glossy Ibis on and off all day, mostly around the scrape, but has flown as far as Mountsorrel Meadows (c.3 miles to the north) and also flew south towards Watermead CP Birstall this morning.

Evington: 25 Arctic Terns flew north over Pevensey Avenue at 18:40.
