Friday 31st

Eyebrook Res: no sign of Great White Egret today. Greenshank in bay west of the hide; juv Wheatear by the Fishing Lodge; Ruff, Green Sandpiper & 2 Dunlin at the inflow.

Thursday 30th

Rutland Water: male Redstart in hedge along the cycle track by Lagoon 7 this morning; Great White Egret still, Heron Bay, also Greenshank there; Green Sandpiper, Wet Meadow; 3 Dunlin, Goldeneye hide.

Eyebrook Res: Great White Egret in the bay just west of the hide this evening.

Albert Village Lake: juv Med Gull.

Orton-on-the-Hill: 2+ Quails still south-west of the village.

Wednesday 29th

Rutland Water: Bittern, Lagoon 3.

Orton-on-the-Hill: 3+ Quails singing in fields just south-west of the village.

Eyebrook Res: 9 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Dunlin, 2 Green Sandpipers & 2 Common Sandpipers.

Tuesday 28th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret, Heron Bay.

Orton-on-the-Hill: up to 4 Quails singing in fields just south-west of the village.

Eyebrook Res: 5 Black-tailed Godwits & 3 Dunlin.

Monday 27th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret, Burley Fishponds; Spotted Redshank, Lagoon 2.

Sunday 26th

Orton-on-the-Hill: 3 Quails still singing just south-west of the village.

Saturday 25th

Rutland Water: Wood Sandpiper, Knot, Sanderling & Common Scoter all still in the North Arm; Great White Egret, Heron Bauy; 7 Black-tailed Godwits & Green Sandpiper, Manton Bay.

Cropston Res: Dunlin at the inflow & 5 Common Sandpipers at the dam.

Shawell A5 Lagoons: 1 Ruff.

Friday 24th

Rutland Water: Wood Sandpiper, Knot, Sanderling & 2 Greenshanks, North Arm; female Common Scoter, Burley Fishponds; Great White Egret, Wet Meadow; Spotted Redshank, Lagoon 3; 5 Black-tailed Godwits, Manton Bay; 2 Greenshanks, Goldeneye hide.

Thursday 23rd

Aylestone Meadows: Bee-eater heard calling in flight twice this evening, but not seen. Possibly heading east (Mark Andrews).

Orton-on-the-Hill: 3+ Quails singing today (no details of exactly where). If looking for these, as always please remember that using any kind of recording to get them to call back or show is illegal, and do not enter any crop fields.

Rutland Water: 12 Black-tailed Godwits, Lagoon 1.

Cropston Res: Black-tailed Godwit at the inflow.

Oakham: Green Sandpiper flew west this evening.

Wednesday 22nd

Rutland Water: Wood Sandpiper, Wet Meadow, also Great White Egret still around Egleton reserve.

Eyebrook Res: 15 Dunlin at the inflow.

Tuesday 21st

Rutland Water: Wood Sandpiper, Whimbrel & 3 Turnstones, North Arm; Great White Egret still, Heron Bay; Spotted Redshank, Lagoon 3; 3 Common Sandpipers, Goldeneye hide; Ruff & 2 Green Sandpipers, Snipe hide.

Eyebrook Res: Turnstone & 4 Dunlin at the inflow, also 3 Whimbrels briefly this morning then flew off south.

Monday 20th

Rutland Water: no sign of White-winged Black Tern in North Arm, but 4 Common Scoters there; 2 Black Terns, South Arm 1.

Sunday 19th

Rutland Water: adult White-winged Black Tern, North Arm, also 1 Sanderling; Great White Egret still, Heron Bay; Spotted Redshank, Lagoon 3; Turnstone, Lagoon 1.

Eyebrook Res: 3 Black-tailed Godwits briefly at the inflow late morning + 4 Common Sandpipers along the Plantation shore.

Kelham Bridge: Green Sandpiper & Hobby.

Saturday 18th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret still, Heron Bay; 2 Greenshanks, 2 Dunlin & 5 Common Sandpipers, North Arm; Dunlin & 4 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: Green Sandpiper & 2 Ringed Plovers.

Friday 17th

Rutland Water: 3 Black Terns, North Arm; Great White Egret, Heron Bay.

Thursday 16th

Rutland Water: Little Tern, Whimbrel, Greenshank & 2 Common Sandpipers, North Arm; Great White Egret still, Wet Meadow; Spotted Redshank, Lagoon 3; Med Gull, Lagoon 4.

Groby Pool: juvenile Med Gull.

Wednesday 15th

Rutland Water: Temminck's Stint still, North Arm, on bund by Fishponds Cottage; Great White Egret still, Heron Bay; 2 Garganey, Manton Bay; Little Gull, Wigeon hide; Black-tailed Godwit, Green Sandpiper, Dunlin & Ringed Plover, Manton Bay; Black-tailed Godwit, Greenshank & Green Sandpiper, Fieldfare hide.

Eyebrook Res: 3 Sanderlings, 4 Dunlin, Black-tailed Godwit & Common Sandpiper at the inflow.

Tuesday 14th

Rutland Water: Temminck's Stint still, North Arm; Great White Egret still around Egleton reserve; 2 Garganey, Manton Bay; 2 Black-tailed Godwits, Greenshank & 3 Green Sandpipers, Fieldfare hide.

Monday 13th

Rutland Water: Temminck's Stint, Lyndon reserve, then relocated in North Arm late afternoon. Also Great White Egret still from Heron hide.

Sunday 12th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret, Heron Bay; Scaup, Lagoon 1.

Eyebrook Res: 2nd-summer Little Gull still (report of 2 adults yesterday was the result of me misunderstanding a text!), also 2 Dunlin & 1 Green Sandpiper at the inflow.

Stoughton Airfield: Whimbrel flew over at 14:40.

Cossington Meadows: Green Sandpiper, Upper Marsh + Black-tailed Godwit over.

Saturday 11th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret flew from Burley Fishponds roost early morning, then from Fieldfare hide later; 2 Garganey, South Arm 2; 3 Scaup, Lagoon 1 & drake Common Scoter, North Arm.

Eyebrook Res: 2nd-summer Little Gull, 6 Black-tailed Godwits, 3+ Green Sandpipers, Dunlin & Ringed Plover.

Friday 10th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret still, Wet Meadow, also 4 Scaup, Lagoon 1.

Ashby: 2 Crossbills flew south over Tesco this evening.

Thursday 9th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret still, Wet Meadow; 35 Black-tailed Godwits, Lagoon 4, also 1 from Fieldfare hide & 3 Green Sandpipers, South Arm 3; drake Scaup, Lagoon 3.

Tuesday 7th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret, Wet Meadow this morning; 2 Common Sandpipers, Goldeneye hide; 4 Green Sandpipers, Fieldfare hide + Greenshank heard.

Monday 6th

Rutland Water: Spotted Redshank still, Lagoon 3.

Sunday 5th

Cossington Meadows: Great White Egret, Upper Marsh/Hobley Lake.

Rutland Water: 2nd-summer Little Gull, North Arm; Spotted Redshank, Lagoon 3; Black-tailed Godwit, Lagoon 1; Green Sandpiper, Lagoon 2.

Eyebrook Res: 7 Black-tailed Godwits, Green Sandpiper & Curlew, inflow; Ringed Plover at the island.

Saturday 4th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret still around Egleton reserve; Black-tailed Godwit & 3 Green Sandpipers, Lagoon 3; 2 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: 2 Green Sandpipers, Dunlin & Ringed Plover.

North Kilworth: Osprey at Kilworth Sticks Fishery.

Friday 3rd

Rutland Water: Great White Egret, Lagoon 1/Wet Meadow; 15 Black-tailed Godwits, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: Green Sandpiper at the inflow.

Thursday 2nd

Rutland Water: Marsh Harrier & 3 Black-tailed Godwits, Lagoon 1.
